Angels Flub Leads to Yankees Game 2 Win (VIDEO)

Angels Flub Leads to Yankees Game 2 Win (VIDEO)Coming through in the clutch yet again, Alex Rodriguez hit an 11th inning, game-tying home run and the New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 on Saturday, thanks to Maicer Izturis’ error in the 13th and now lead the series 2-0.

The Yankees pulled off more late-inning heroics to remain undefeated in the 2009 playoffs. The contest ended when Izturis threw Melky Cabrera’s grounder to second base away.

Jerry Hairston Jr., who was pinch-hitting, led off the 13th inning with a single off losing pitcher Ervin Santana in his initial postseason at-bat. Brett Gardner sacrificed and Robinson Cano was then walked intentionally.

Cabrera hit a grounder down the hole between first and second base, and Izturis made a poor decisiong to attempt to throw back across his body to go for the force out at second base. The low throw got by shortstop Erick Aybar and went behind third base. Chone Figgins then attempted to pick it up.

Figgins couldn’t get a handle on the ball and Hairston raced home and scored the winning run.
