Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch has filed an appeal after having been suspended without pay for the first three games of the regular season, according to the AP.
These types of discipline appeals that revolve around the NFL’s personal conduct policy are usually quite difficult to win, especially when you consider the fact that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has the final say in such matters.
Lynch was suspended based on a guilty plea for a misdemeanor gun charge in California.
About a year ago, Lynch evaded discipline from the NFL following a hit-and-run accident in Buffalo’s bar district.
With this violation, Lynch has acknowledged that he expected to be disciplined by the league.
Ironically, Bills running back Fred Jackson signed a contract extension yesterday. Could this be more than a coincidence, given that Jackson is slated to start in place of Lynch after he serves his probable suspension.
