3. The Jazz are back to winning at home

The Jazz started a little slow at home this year, but they are now 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games. Year in and year out the Jazz are a great play against the spread at home and a great fade on the road.

4. The Warriors dominate the Eastern Conference

Golden State is 19-7-2 against the spread in their last 28 games. Even when they have been short on depth they still beat up on the east.

5. The Lakers are a great pick as the underdog

The Lakers are a stunning 35-17-2 in their last 54 as an underdog and 25-11-2 in their last 38 road games as an underdog. Clearly the Lakers play well in the underdog role.

6. Dallas is great on the road and bad at home

At least against the spread the Mavericks are a much better play on the road. The Mavericks are 13-6 against the spread on the road and just 5-13 at home.

7. The Hawks are just better than the odds makers think

The Hawks are especially good at home against the spread at 13-5, but they are 25-12 against the spread overall this year. Obviously the odds makers don’t trust them yet, but it appears they are for real.

8. Detroit isn’t getting better with their nucleus of players back

The odds makers obviously have expected Detroit to get better with Hamilton, Prince, and Gordon back, but it isn’t happening. The Pistons are a miserable 2-12 against the spread in their last 14 games.

9. Charlotte is quietly strong against the spread this year

While Charlotte isn’t having a great year, they are improved and they are beating the odds both on the road and at home. The Bobcats are 11-7 against the spread both at home and on the road.
